Everyone starts out with pure passion and glittering dreams tucked inside their hearts, but harsh realities and a corrupt world distort even those dreams before the logic of massive capital. Yumin's journey—molding herself to fit the "ideal university look," being exploited under the guise of youth theater just to earn college application fees, and ultimately forced to sell a fake name and age in the abnormal environment of an adult entertainment establishment—demonstrates how the pure passion of youth can be ruthlessly contaminated. This work aims to deliver a sharp critique of a ruthless reality where even dreaming demands a heavy price and compromise, and where dreams can no longer exist as dreams themselves, but are reduced to mere tools for money and survival. While you sleep, countless eyes are watching your dreams. A SCI-FI HORROR FROM KOREA Produced by BEOMRAM Directed by PARK Seung-beom Synopsis In the near future, a machine called RÊVE is invented that can broadcast dreams as video, and "Dreamator" content, in which people show their dreams to others, becomes a sensation. Eun-ha, a Dreamator hungry for popularity, signs up for a clinical trial that promises to let her dream whatever she wants. Director's Note Every night, twenty-eight-year-old Eun-ha returns to the day her mother died. Countless strangers watch that night unfold, and each time a donation alert chimes, she smiles and bows her head in thanks. Even as her nosebleed drips onto her younger sister's perfect exam, the 1.5 million won in cram-school fees means she must fall asleep again tonight. But now the viewers are bored. They ask her: don't you have any other dreams? In a world where even our wounds must be sold to survive, the very thing she began in order to protect the one she loves slowly turns that person into her most terrifying nightmare. Dreamator is a story about people who had to learn how to sell their dreams before they ever learned how to dream. Through Eun-ha, weeping like a child as she watches her sister leave for school as if nothing had happened, as if it had all been just a dream, I wanted to ask: the pain we enjoy through our screens—could it be the very reality someone has to wake up to every morning? #koomfilm #koomchallenge
